Exclusive Interview With Mrs India Pacific Leena Sharma

How has your family reacted to your winning Mrs India Pacific?

In my Pageant after the formalities of my Crown I could see their excitement & pride for me in their eyes. The way they were hooting for me. I couldn’t have done it without them. My Parents and my family is my strength.

Other than your mother, who do you think is the most beautiful woman in the world?
Other than my mother in my opinion I feel each and every women is beautiful in her own. God has put different beautiful qualities in different women. So we Can’t compare those qualities. The real beauty reflects in women’s soul not on the facial mode.

Some people think beauty pageants are shallow parades of beauty. What do you have to say to them?
Yes I agree with this statement “beauty pageants are shallow parades of beauty”. In my opinion there should no positions in beauty Pageant. I have also gone through different position in my three Pageants no 1, no 2 and as a winner. I know how it feels. Beauty Pageants can’t judge the inside beauty of a women and its a fact.

First thought about entering the pageant came from my first programme organised by Blenders Pride Mr Manjit
who came from Delhi to our Army club KOI in Chandigarh. Me and my Husband was selected as best photogenic face couple. After selecting our pics the organisers told me that I got very photogenic face. So in this way my journey started.

Was there anything you watched or read throughout the entire journey to keep you company and to motivate you?
I think the most important thing is to first believe in yourself and listen to your heart and feel confidence in yourself that ‘yes I can do this’. I think my instincts, my confidence ,my family, my friends support were always there throughout the entire journey to keep me motivating.

What incident in your life made you realize about your passion in pageantry? Who assured you that beauty pageants are totally your cup of tea?
Fashion shows and modelling was my passion. I did lot of fashion shows in Meerut and Delhi also. But sometimes you have to sacrifice few things for your loved ones. Later I choose Profession of a teacher and then I did my diploma in Animation and visual effects. Started my work as a freelancer Graphic Designer & into Animation. But sometimes we were posted to field Area in Army so life becomes difficult. Then I gave up my career because I wanted to give quality time to my children and their education. I think sitting in home as a home maker doing nothing in life made me realize about my passion in pageantry. My husband knows about my all passion. Its my husband who assured me that beauty pageants is my cup of tea and he gave me news about my first Beauty Pageant competition.

For me fashion is something which comes within us. Fashion doesn’t make us. We make the fashion. I believe in simplicity. For me fashion is something in which you feel comfortable and confident in. I follow my own fashion in which I feel comfortable.

In your opinion which is the one dress that can never go out of fashion?
In my opinion Indian Saree with any smart top is the one dress that can never go out of fashion. If it is worn in a stylish way with shimmer top it is the best dress.

What beauty/fitness regime would you suggest for our readers?
To be successful in life you must dedicate your 100% on your fitness training, your rigorous diet, gym exercises and your mental approach. I am inspiring many ladies with my fitness training. I believe the most important thing is that first you have to be a good example for others in fitness. Then you can become a role model.

I am in love with both Saree and gown. It Depend upon an occasion, place and time.

Where is your favourite place to travel?
My favourite place to travel is in Goa and Mumbai.

What is your all-time favourite movie and why?
My all-time favourite movie is ‘Meine Pyaar kiya’ because It was the most innocent romantic evergreen movie.

I prefer Heels and Sneakers both. It depends on the dress, place and the occasion.

Describe your sense of style in 3 words.
My sense of style in 3 words are simple but graceful , confident & comfortable.

What is that favourite accessory that you cannot leave the house without?
My Lakme eye conic eyeliner is that favourite accessory that I cannot leave the house without.

What is that favourite accessory that you cannot leave the house without?
16)Apart from fashion, the other things I have great interest in writing articles and logo designs on the website of our PM Mr Narender Modi ji on the creative corner.
My main issues where I would like to work on-
a) New education styles
b) ban on plastic & polythin
c) Home based jobs for women
d) Green Projects
e) Save water
f) Ban on Begging
I have lot of creative solutions for these problems. Waiting for the right opportunity to showcase my talent & share my ideas.

What is your future plans?
Yes there are some plans going in my mind after experience of three Beauty Pageants. I know what new innovation is going in my mind for women. If I will get an opportunities and support from people I am sure this is going to rock in India. I have to look for sponsors and financers. I need good wishes & support from everyone if I can achieve my aim.
