Interview With Fitness Model Rachana Singh

Hi Rachana, Could you tell us a bit about yourself and how you started training?
First of all I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my story.
I am a girl with lots of ambitions. I was born and brought up in a Village, where  we do not have access to proper education and being a girl you are forced to get married in your early twenties. I always wanted to live life free like a bird and independently.I was in school when Priyanka Chopra became Miss World, my father brought the  news paper from somewhere I saw her and was inspired I wanted to be strong. Time flew and I am here, today I am a Software Engineer and Fitness blogger. I still face lots of difficulties but one thing I always remind myself is Rachana you can’t give up, you have come a long way and lot more to go.

How do you stay motivated?
Always remind myself, I have one life and I need to do best with it no matter what.

What is your current workout routine?
Monday – Shoulders + Cardio
Tuesday – Biceps + Cardio + Abs
Wednesday – Triceps + Cardio
Thursday – Back + Cardio + Abs
Friday – Chest + Cardio
Saturday – Legs + Abs
Sunday – Rest day and cheat day as well

What is your diet like?
Breakfast – Have food rich in Protein and clean carbs like Oats, Chilla, brown bread sandwich, smoothies, Eggs & Grilled Chicken

Lunch – Mostly a bowl of Dal, Green or seasonal veggies, a bowl of Rice or 2 rotisserie with salad and Dahi

Dinner – Chicken soup, grilled chicken, vegetable soup, Pawnee salad, brown rice n egg bhujji, or chicken gravy made at home.

What gives you the best results when trying to get lean?
Diet and intense workout, guys diet is major thing if you are trying to lean, eat food low in fat and carbs n rich in protein n nutritious.

What 3 exercises have contributed the most to building your physique?
Mountain climbing, Dead lifts and Squats…You can’t make body by doing 2-3 workouts; you need to combine workouts together. But these 3 are my favourite.

What supplements do you use?
I take Isolate protein and Pre workout sometimes or I use Black coffee for president workout.

What is the most common training question that people ask you?
How to loose belly fat, I hear this very often, I would like to say that ‘ you can’t loose any particular area of fat from your body, body drop fat from every where and you need to work out for everything. it’s not like you are doing crunches and you will get abs, for abs you need to follow diet and strength and cardio both are important.

What is your greatest achievement so far?
People started recognizing my work, and I have once gave the diet chart to someone and it works, he lost 5 kgs in a month. It’s was like a dream for me, I was so happy that was able to help someone.

What are your plans for the future?
I am planning to do some certification for Personal Training and also planning to start a YouTube channel where I can share fitness and lifestyle related videos.
